Controller/Full Charge Bookkeeper Description

Our client, a family-owned business, is looking for a hands-on Controller/Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their team in Richfield, OH. Reporting directly to the President, you will manage the company’s full accounting cycle, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. 

You will work closely with the Assistant Controller and external accounting partners for quarterly and year-end reporting. This role offers a stable, supportive environment and is ideal for an operationally focused accounting professional who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day business operations while ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.

Controller/Full Charge Bookkeeper Responsibilities

•    Oversee billing, invoicing, and revenue reconciliation
•    Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
•    Process payroll for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors
•    Prepare journal entries, support monthly close activities, and generate reports for leadership
•    Partner with external accounting firm for quarterly and year-end reporting
•    Perform financial analysis to ensure gross profit targets and other performance goals are met 
•    Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and Excel 
•    Support insurance renewals, audits, and compliance reporting
•    Perform other duties to ensure smooth financial operations 

Controller/Full Charge Bookkeeper Qualifications 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
•    5+ years of full-charge accounting experience required
•    Hands on payroll processing experience, for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors, required
•    Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, reconciliations, and financial statements required
•    Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel required
