Our client in the plastics manufacturing industry is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as a key technical liaison between customers and internal teams, providing product and application support for plastic valves, piping systems, and fabricated plastic components. In this role, you will evaluate customer requirements, recommend technical solutions, and support the sales team with product selection, customization, and troubleshooting. Applications Engineer (Plastics/Ind. Material Manuf. Exp Req) Responsibilities
• Efficiently manage technical phone calls and quote requests from customers, distributors, sales
• Evaluate customer requirements; recommend appropriate products and engineered solutions
• Develop technical proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation for custom projects
• Conduct product training, presentations, and technical seminars for customers and distributors
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Coordinate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure customer specifications are met
• Review bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and fabrication processes for accuracy
• Create and maintain technical documentation, application notes, and installation guides
• Support product testing, performance evaluations, and failure analysis
• Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects across company departments
Applications Engineer (Plastics/Ind. Material Manuf. Exp Req) Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 3+ years experience in applications or industrial engineering in manufacturing required
• 2+ years experience in technical customer-facing role required
• Ability to convey complex technical information to engineers and non-technical buyers required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
