Director of Construction Operations Description

Our client is looking for a Director of Construction Operations to own their General Contracting (GC) division’s performance and profitability, from estimating through closeout.  In this concentrated, hands-on leadership role, you’ll run day-to-day operations, lead a team of estimators, project managers, construction managers, and field superintendents, and serve as a key face of the firm to municipal clients. You'll also partner with executive leadership on strategic growth. Director of Construction Operations Responsibilities

•    Own division profitability; track job costing and manage project financials
•    Lead and develop estimators, project managers, construction managers, and field superintendents
•    Oversee daily operations across estimating, project management, and field execution
•    Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and project paperwork
•    Read and interpret drawings and scopes across grading, storm/sewer, hardscapes, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, parking lots, and amenity buildings
•    Drive business development with municipalities and existing clients
•    Identify project risks early and develop strategies to maintain schedules, budgets, and quality standards
•    Negotiate pricing, scope, and terms with vendors and subcontractors
•    Present performance updates to company leadership
•    Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and growth 

Director of Construction Operations Qualifications

•    5+ years of construction management experience required
•    5+ years of experience leading teams required
•    Strong command of contracts, change orders, drawings, and scopes of work required
•    Proficiency with job costing, reporting, and profitability management required 
•    Proficiency with construction software required
