Director of Development Description

Our client, a national non-profit organization, is seeking a Director of Development to lead their fundraising and development initiatives. In this role, you will create and implement a comprehensive fundraising program targeting corporations, foundations, and individual donors to meet organizational goals. A counterpart will focus on securing grants from federal agencies, allowing you to concentrate on building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders in the corporate and philanthropic sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience securing funding across these sectors and a proven ability to cultivate and manage donor relationships. Director of Development Responsibilities

•    Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to meet organizational objectives 
•    Develop and maintain systems for managing donor relationships and tracking fundraising efforts 
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for major donors, corporate partners, and foundations 
•    Collaborate with the executive team to ensure effective execution of all development functions
•    Build and nurture long-term relationships with corporate, foundation, and philanthropic leaders 
•    Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts, grants, and sponsorships
•    Research, identify, and track new grant, gift, and funding opportunities to support growth
•    Steward a diverse portfolio of direct and indirect donors, ensuring ongoing engagement 
•    Plan and execute donor recognition events and activities
•    Provide personalized stewardship to major donors, to ensure continued support
•    Monitor and report on fundraising performance, tracking progress toward goals

Director of Development Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    10+ years of experience in fundraising and development required
•    Experience establishing corporate and foundation relationships required
•    Proven track record in securing major gifts required 
•    Familiarity with donor relationship management systems required
